Revenue ManagerMiami, Florida, United StatesAST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today's five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected.Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced, hands-on Revenue Manager to own the execution and review of revenue accounting operations across our commercial equipment, government contract, and mobile network operator (MNO) service revenue streams. This role is central to ensuring compliance with ASC 606, managing the order-to-cash cycle, and building scalable, well-controlled revenue processes in a high-growth public company environment. The role reports to the Director of Revenue Accounting and will provide review and oversight of offshore accounting support staff as the team grows.The ideal candidate combines strong technical revenue accounting knowledge with the operational versatility to work across multiple revenue streams, including milestone-based government contracts and equipment sales, and is comfortable operating in an environment where processes are still being formalized and improved.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the order-to-cash cycle end to end, including customer invoicing, billing, accounts receivable, cash application, aging analysis, and collectionsPrepare and review revenue and cost of sales journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting workpapers, including deferred revenue and contract asset/liability balancesOwn month-end, quarter-end, and year-end revenue close processes, including variance analysis, reporting, and close calendar deliverablesExecute milestone invoicing and billing for government contracts, maintain milestone and billing trackers, and coordinate with program and contract teams on invoice timing and acceptanceApply revenue recognition guidance under ASC 606 across multiple revenue models, including evaluation of performance obligations, over-time versus point-in-time recognition, and variable considerationReview and interpret customer contracts, including non-standard terms, to ensure proper accounting treatment under GAAPReview the work of offshore accounting staff supporting AR, cash application, and workpaper preparation, providing direction and quality controlPartner cross-functionally with Sales Operations, Legal, FP&A, Supply Chain, and program teams to ensure alignment between contracts, fulfillment, billing, and revenue recognitionIdentify, document, and implement process improvements across the quote-to-cash cycle, including system-enabled automation of manual processesSupport external audits and quarterly reviews, maintain SOX-compliant controls, and ensure adherence to GAAP and internal accounting policiesQualificationsEducation:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (required)CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferredExperience:A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including significant hands-on revenue accounting experienceExperience reviewing the work of others or supervising staff preferredPreferred Qualifications:Strong working knowledge of ASC 606, including multi-element arrangements, over-time recognition, and variable considerationExperience with milestone-based contracts, government contracts, or government contract accounting systems (e.g., Deltek Costpoint) a plusExperience in telecommunications a plusExperience with accounting ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle) and CRM (e.g., Salesforce)Experience with revenue automation tools (e.g., NetSuite ARM, Zuora) a plusAdvanced Microsoft Excel skillsPublic accounting experience preferredSoft Skills:Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the judgment to know when to escalateAbility to operate independently and build structure where documented processes do not yet existEffective analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interacting with senior stakeholders and external auditorsGood organizational and time-management abilities, with the ability to manage competing close deadlinesAbility to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environmentTechnology Stack:Microsoft ExcelNetSuiteSalesforcePhysical Requirements:Ability to work in a standard office environmentAbility to lift up to 25lbsAbility to use a computer and sit for extended periodsParticipate in virtual or in-person meetings as requiredAdditional Requirements:U.S. citizenship is required for this position because it supports accounting and reporting for U.S. government contracts, which are subject to federal contracting and export control requirementsThis job description may not be inclusive to the duties and responsibilities listed.
